Hidden Treasure

Over the weekend I had the awesome opportunity to venture to Rickett's Glen State Park and go hiking with my Dad and brother. We had the most amazing time of bonding and adventure, as we traversed the various steep hills and trails, that led right to the mouth of numerous waterfalls. As we walked I kept thinking to myself, and seeing the wonder of God's creation, and how His artistry was evident all around. Our family has always been outdoors men, but hardly ever take advantage of treasures virtually in our backyard. It almost seemed liked an awakening happened in all of us, and our passions for the outdoors all came together at once. I can't wait to get back outdoors, and venture off to lands I've never been to. While I was out there, I really felt like one of the earliest explorers, charting out the land for the first time. I encourage anyone to give National Parks a try, break up the hustle and bustle of everyday life, and enjoy the comfort and relaxation the wilderness provides. Hiking is an inexpensive hobby anyone can get into, all you need is a good pair of boots, and and some initiative to get outside. PA is a beautiful state, with many hidden treasures, but you need to go to them they won't find you.
