Tough as Nails

Ian Laperriere of the Flyers was voted the toughest player in the NHL by the Sporting News for the 2010 season, which should come as no surprise at all. This guy is truly remarkable how night in and night out Lappy put his body on the line without any regard for his personal well-being. He was willing to put his face in front of a puck to block a shot and preserve a victory, thats downright heroic. Heres a video that commemorates his reward enjoy ( Have tissues handy this is beautilful).

Signs of Life

Ok so the Flyers fell behind 3-0 in the best of 7 series making Game 4 a survival game, win and live to fight another day, lose and well lets not go there. So playing with their playoff lives on the lines the Flyers led a spirited attack against the Bruins and held a 3-2 lead heading into the 3rd period. Of course those pesky Bruins tied the game, at 3, Flyers went up 4-3 with little over 3 minutes to play in the game. Things were feeling good until 30 seconds left when the Bruins did the unthinkable and tied the game once again. I was truly feeling we were snake bitten and that overtime was an uncertainity. But the Flyers rose to the challenge and Simon Gagne scored ending Wachovia Arena into a frenzy. Gagne had triumphial returned to the lineup after missing the 1st three games due to a broken toe. The Flyers have life albeit not much but thye will lace them up on Monday Night and try to extend this series longer. I have faith that the fly guys will play well, hey anything is possible.

Judgemental Night

Ok so judgement night turned out absolutely terrible theFlyers fell to the Bruins 3-2 thus falling behind 2-0 in the best of seven series. The boys fought hard and gave it there all but in the end the Bruins basically stole this one away. The Bruins scored what all I can deem as a lucky goal with about 2 minutes left, ruining the Flyers bid at tying the series. O well not the end of the road hopefully they can go back home to philly and win the next 2.

Judgement Night

Tonight is big. The result of tonight's struggle will tell us allot about what will happen in the coming days. Do you know what tonight is? Other then Monday night smarty pants, it's game 2 of the Stanley Cup Eastern Conference Semifinals between our beloved Philadelphia Flyers and the Boston cubbies I mean Bruins. Why is this game so critical you ask? I'll tell you, the Flyers fell a little short and lost in overtime to the Bruins in Game 1 5-4. Tonight the Flyers need to right the tide and even this baby up 1-1. Falling behind 2-0 in a best of 7 series is a recipe for disaster. But i feel confident about tonight, Flyers were a bit rusty after having 9 days off between beating the Devils and Game 1 vs the Bruins, they're gonna bring the A game tonight. I like where Right Winger Danny Briere's head is at he said "I hope it goes at least 5 games now, we can win the next four". Yes Danny, love that spicy talk and confidence!! Kudos to you my friend and get the rest of the boys on board. I know the Carbomb is gonna go off in Game 2. So find a couch, futon or somewhere cozy and tune in at 7 PM for the Battle in Beantown!!

Simple as 1,2,3, A,B,B,A

OK confession time. I have a very unique taste in music. I'm a fan of um, well, yeah, ABBA, ok i said it that wasn't hard at all. There's just something so catchy and fun with all of their songs, that I just don't see or hear in today's music. In general, I'm not a big fan of pop music, instead I prefer the vintage stuff. Anyway, recently I had an awesome time visiting my lovely girlfriend and seeing an ABBA tribute band in concert with her. They were Swedish and basically as close to the real thing as you can get. From the hair, to the one piece jumpsuit (leotard?) costumes, finger dances, and amazing accents (urging the crowd to dance, and Patey (Party), we had a phenomenally fun night. I'm being downright serious, if you've never listened to ABBA, you gotta give those little Swedish meatballs a chance, you won't be disappointed. Listen enough and I guarantee you'll become your very own Dancing Queen (or King I suppose). So I'm sending out the SOS take a chance on ABBA, you'll be a winner and take it all!
